21 JUN 08
New York, NY

Hello everybody and happy summer.

If you're in New York today, Saturday June 21st, please try to check out one of the many live performances that will be filling our city streets as part of the 2nd annual Make Music New York.

Amongst these events will be Music for a Change, a project of ComposersCollaborative Inc. of which I am a co-curator. I'm very excited that on the program is Children at War - 1988, my tone-poem to the summer of that year and played by the very excellent musicians of SONYC: String Orchestra of New York City.

You can hear a short excerpt of the piece by clicking or downloading from HERE.

The event is FREE and outdoors on Cornelia Street in Greenwich Village starting at 6:30 PM. Details are below and at the provided links.

Thanks again and all my best,

-Patrick Grant

Allan Kozinn (New York Times) contextualizes CCi’s monthly performances in the basement of the Cornelia Street Cafe – “... part of the ecology of urban night life.”
